Description
Software Engineer 2 - Gameplay, Electronic Arts - Tiburon, a Florida Corporation, Orlando, FL. Design core features of video games and develop scalable eCommerce platforms to power hundreds of games. Translate business requirements into technical designs. Develop features and capabilities for EA software systems that support online gaming activities and develop large-scale distributed web services for high traffic and scalable systems. Create tools, features, engine components and profiles, and optimize software components of games. Execute software design architecture activities. Create and maintain technical design documentation. Design and implement tools to improve efficiency for development, testing and release of software. Design, implement, and maintain testing and debug codes. Produce and implement solutions to bugs related to feature defects. Fix software defects in existing systems to increase the performance and scalability of products. Identify problems and implement solutions to improve system performance. Write reliable and efficient programs at scale. Telecommuting permitted. (SWE2-S-103-FL)
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. EA offers benefits incl. PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance & 401(k) to eligible E’ees. Certain roles eligible for bonus & equity.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development/ Game Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and one (1) year of software engineering experience.
In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development/ Game Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and three (3) years of software engineering experience.
Qualifying experience must include one (1) year in object-oriented programming languages, including C++, Java, Python, or C#.
Qualifying experience must also include one (1) year in at least eight (8) of the following (which may be gained concurrently):
- HTTP (via REST) or gRPC;
- SQL Server or NoSQL;
- MySQL, Reddis or ElasticSearch;
- Flash; DevOps or Live Services;
- Version controls such as Perforce, Git or Jenkins;
- Azure, AWS or similar;
- Automated testing, test-driven development, or unit testing;
- Database components such as Cassandra, MongoDB;
- Containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes;
- Development experience using Agile, Scrum or Waterfall;
- Engineering experience owning a major system or developing a large scale live product or high traffic service;
- At least two (2) of the following: Scaleform, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript.
Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
